Having just released his third solo album ‘Luminescence’ via Kscope, Bruce Soord invites us into perhaps one of the most personal tracks on the new album in the form of ‘Lie Flat’. Following on from the acoustic caress of album opener ‘Dear Life’, the new single showcases Bruce’s innate ability to craft effortless hooks with timid electronica to create a song that truly transports the listener with every listen.
Accompanying the song is the beautifully shot video by Jeremy George / Black Tide Productions. In it, we see Bruce’s journey not just as an artist but as a human being. Celebrating his birth, his first achievements, his entering parenthood and of course his now legendary trajectory into the world of music in the form of The Pineapple Thief and of course his solo works. A truly spellbinding piece that brings the intimate nature of ‘Luminescence’ into the widescreen.
Bruce is currently on his very special and incredibly rare solo outing. During the performances, fans can expect to see Bruce in an up close and personal setting performing some of his most intimate material to date in the form of ‘Luminescence’. Joining him is Jon Sykes (The Pineapple Thief) and drummer Tash Buxton.

Inspired by the idea of finding inner peace, Soord’s latest solo release Luminescence explores the difficulty of living in the metropolis of the modern world. Born from days exploring various cities whilst on tour, tracks from the album feature recordings from Soord’s various wanderings captured on his field recorder.
With acoustic guitar at the centre of the album, tracks such as ‘Lie Flat’ appear simple on the surface yet reveal unmistakable intricacies throughout. There’s a variety of styles within though. The album’s single ‘Dear Life’ effortlessly encapsulates Soord’s unique sense of poised melancholy, while ‘Nestle In’ flirts with electronica. ‘Olomouc’s rousing strings work against the acoustic backdrop of Soord’s guitar to paint a vivid picture of the stillness that the record describes.
Recorded between January 2021 and June of 2023, the album was cut at Soord Studios with additional strings recorded at RAK Studio 3 in London, featuring arrangements from Andrew Skeet, a long-time member of The Divine Comedy and musical producer of the orchestration on many films/tv shows from Netflix’s smash hit Black Mirror to David Attenborough’s Green Planet and Dynasties II.
The album is available as a limited edition deluxe 3-disc hardback book version that contains two CDs and a DVD.
The second disc contains an entire bonus album ‘Our Ship Sails At Dusk’, featuring material that was from the writing sessions over the period of Luminescence. The DVD will feature everything in hi-resolution stereo and DTS 5.1'
