The Anchoress Announces Sept/Oct Tour Dates.

THE ANCHORESS ANNOUNCES NEW LONDON SHOW TO COINCIDE WITH VERSIONS ALBUM RELEASE

Welsh multi-instrumentalist and producer The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies) has announced a brand new London date on 6th October 2023 at the Union Chapel to coincide with her forthcoming covers album entitled Versions, compiling re-imaginings of songs by the likes of Nirvana, Nico and Halsey. Tickets go on general sale on Monday 5th June 2023 at 10 am.

This newly announced show follows on from her critically celebrated headline tour with a full band culminating in her largest headline show to date at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in May. Davies says she is thrilled to be returning to one of the capital’s most iconic venues:

“We have so much planned for this special show at one of London’s most unique venues. It will be the perfect way to celebrate the end of a spectacular year back on tour. This will be my first time back at the Union Chapel since I was invited to play there supporting David Gilmour with Amadou and Mariam when I first started out in music. You can expect some special guests who will be joining me to make it a truly unique evening. As well as my incredible live band, we will also have an extended acoustic piano and strings set and will be debuting some more brand-new songs from the third album. I can’t wait! I think you will agree that it’s a stunning setting to experience live music in. A truly unique space…”

After several years of isolation due to being clinically vulnerable, The Anchoress’ first live show 2023 back in January at the Rockaway Beach festival in January was hailed as “the most compelling artist of the weekend” by Under the Radar Magazine.

A new album of reworkings of tunes by the likes of New Order, All About Eve, The Cure, Halsey and more entitled Versions will be released this autumn on vinyl, as well as a full digital release. It follows on the heels of the acclaimed top 40 album The Art of Losing.
